Self-taught magician Shin Lim was crowned the winner of America's Got Talent on Wednesday's season 13 finale. "When you told me at 16 that an awkward, shy kid would one day be performing at the Dolby Theatre performing on America’s Got Talent, I wouldn’t have believed them," he admitted. "To compete on AGT, it means the world to me." Lim, who learned most of his skills from watching YouTube, stunned the judges with his sleight-of-hand magic and close-up tricks. But his victory came as a shock to many viewers, who predicted that 14-year-old singer Courtney Hadwin would win the competition. The teen with the Janis Joplin-style vocals, however, was cut before even making the top five. Acrobatic dance group Zurcaroh and electric violinist Brian King Joseph came in second and third place, respectively.
