Officials Call Googly Eyes Stuck on Monument "No Laughing Matter"

If you're in Savannah, Georgia, keep your eyes peeled for the vandal who defaced a local monument last week with a pair of googly eyes. "Who did this?!" the city asked Thursday on Facebook along with pics of a historic statue of Nathanael Greene, a top general in the Revolutionary War, looking like he's bugging out. "It may look funny, but harming our historic monuments and public property is no laughing matter, in fact, it's a crime. We are hoping to find the person responsible! If you have information, please call the Savannah Police Department." Police are also reportedly reviewing surveillance footage to potentially identify a suspect, but in the meantime, people are having fun with the alleged crime on Facebook. "It's so funny if somebody gets arrested for this," one commenter wrote. "'So what are you in jail for?' 'Putting googly eyes on a monument.'"
