Johnny Depp Axed From "Pirates of the Caribbean" Franchise

Fans are furious after reports surfaced that Johnny Depp has been axed from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise amid personal and financial issues. Scriptwriter Stuart Beattie appeared to confirm Depp's exit when he told the Daily Mail, "I think he's had a great run. Obviously, he's made that character his own and it's become the character he's most famous for now." Disney is reportedly creating a reboot of the Pirates movies. But fans took to Twitter to slam the idea of any more films being made without Depp, who has has played Captain Jack Sparrow for the past 15 years. "Johnny Depp IS Jack Sparrow, you can’t have Pirates of the Caribbean without," one declared. Another tweeted, "Pirates of the Caribbean just won't be worth watching without Johnny Depp in it, he literally MADE those films."
