Marathon Runner Rescues Puppy During Race & Carries Him for 19 Miles

A woman running in a Thailand marathon last week came across a lost puppy and ended up carrying him for the last 19 miles of the race. According to Runner's World , 43-year-old Khemjira Klongsanun was seven miles into the Chombueng marathon when she noticed other runners dodging the trembling pup. Given that there were no houses nearby, Klongsanun concluded the dog was abandoned and decided to rescue it. She later posted his photo on social media and asked for the owner to come forward. When nobody did, Klongsanun decided to adopt the pup to live with her and her two other dogs. She named him Chombueng, after the marathon that brought them together. "Running almost 20 miles carrying dog was truly a challenge. It was two times tiring than a normal marathon but I did it anyway just because he is adorable," she told the press.
