Moving Day Omaha, A Walk for Parkinson's

Moving Day Omaha, A Walk for Parkinson’s, returns to Stinson Park at Aksarben Village on Saturday, April 27. The event opens at 9AM, with the walk taking place at 10:30. The primary walk route is about a mile, but shorter options are available so everyone can participate. Generally, the entire event is wrapped up by 12:30 or 1PM at the latest.

As the national signature fundraising event of the Parkinson’s Foundation, Moving Day is taking place in more than 40 communities across the United States in 2019. Moving Day events throughout the country have brought together nearly 130,000 participants and raised more than $22 million to improve care and advance research toward a cure.

In addition to funding educational events such as Women and Parkinson’s Disease, funds raised through Moving Day help to:

•            Deliver quality care to more than 100,000 people living with Parkinson’s;

•            Fund cutting-edge research aimed at better treatment and care;

•            Provide free resources for people living with Parkinson’s and their families.

Moving Day is more than just a walk. It’s a fun and inspiring event that raises awareness and funds while uniting families, friends, and communities in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. In addition to a family friendly walk course and kids’ area, each event also features our unique Movement Pavilion, with activities such as yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates that have proven to help manage Parkinson’s symptoms.
