The next time you have a migraine, consider turning to your phone instead of painkillers. A new app called RELAXaHEAD proved helpful in lessening and reducing migraines for people in a small study, UPI reports. Migraine sufferers experienced an average of four fewer headaches a month after using the relaxation-based app, which teaches users how to do progressive muscle relaxation exercises, twice a week. Overtime, the users found they needed to consult the app less and less, which is a hurdle the company will have to overcome in order to continually attract users. It's being touted as a cost-effective, side effect-less alternative to prescription medications.
