Riders looking to have a little more leg space and a little less talk during their next Uber ride can now shell out a few extra bucks to make that happen. The Associated Press reports that the ride-hailing app is now offering the Uber Comfort upgrade, which guarantees 36 inches of leg room in "newer" cars, the chance to choose the air temperature--and an option that tells drivers you don't want to chat. Uber Comfort's rides cost 20 to 40 percent more than standard Uber X rides, thanks to higher time and distance charges. This is not the company's first experimentation with silent rides. In May, it rolled out a “quiet mode” for its Uber Black premium car service.
