Matchbox cars, coloring books and the board game Magic: The Gathering were enshrined in the National Toy Hall of Fame in Rochester, New York, on Thursday. The trio of inductees beat out a list of finalists that included Care Bears, Jenga, My Little Pony, and smartphones. As the AP notes, to make it into the Hall, toys must have lasted across generations, be innovative and foster learning, creativity or discovery through play. There are now 71 toys, including alphabet blocks and G.I. Joe, that have made it into Rochester's hallowed Hall.
