They’re not even old enough to drive yet, but a pair of siblings from the Bronx have created a line of inspirational socks and they’re using them to make the world a better place. Raechel Chang, 12, and her 15-year-old brother Michaeldesigned a line of socks with uplifting messages and launched their company, Greeting Card Socks, this year.

“We came up with the idea of socks because that’s something everyone wears and it’s worldwide and it’s number one most requested in homeless shelters,” Raechel says.

The socks sell for between six and 10 dollars and for every purchase, the siblings will donate a pair of socks and a greeting card to someone in need. So far, they’ve sold about 200 pair and have donated another 200. The siblings are inspired to give back by their mom, Ava.

“We’ve received help over the years and we think it’s important to help where we can,” Ava says. “We have socks in the trunk, side of car door, in the console, everywhere because people love to receive them. Sometimes they’re having a bad day and we’ll just be passing and we’ll just hand them a sock.”
