SALVATION ARMY LONG-TERM TORNADO RECOVERY CENTER TO BE ESTABLISHED IN ELKHORN

OMAHA, Nebraska (May 23, 2024) – The Salvation Army of Omaha is establishing a Long-Term Tornado Recovery Center in Elkhorn—to further support area residents impacted by the tornado outbreak of April 26.

The Salvation Army will partner with FNBO to set up this center at their bank branch at 3808 N. 203rd St. in Elkhorn (right off 204th & W. Maple Rd.). The center will be staffed by a Salvation Army disaster-relief caseworker. The caseworker will be ready to meet with storm-impacted individuals and families from Douglas and Washington Counties—and connect them with financial support, housing assistance, utility-bill assistance, material-goods assistance, and more.  Please note that food, bottled water, and other storm-relief supplies will not be distributed at the center.

The Long-Term Tornado Recovery Center will open on Friday, May 24.  Its operating hours will be 9 a.m.-noon and again from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The long-term recovery phase of The Salvation Army’s ongoing tornado-relief operation addresses restoration and rebuilding efforts and includes the dispersal of emergency financial assistance and other support—to help disaster survivors rebuild their lives.

The Salvation Army sincerely thanks FNBO for its outstanding support in generously providing space for the center.
