Look Who Made A Surprise Appearance/Performance At The Opry

The Grand Ol Opry is known for creating special moments by bringing surprise celebrity guests on stage, but when Murray made his surprise debut, the Opry crowd went wild.  Taking to the stage on Tuesday night (Sept. 25th), Murray joined the SteelDrivers and John Prine to sing, “Paradise.”

The Opry shared a video of the celebrity spectacle via Twitter with the caption, “This is one #OpryMoment you just HAD to be there for.”

Murray is known for his charmingly eccentric behavior and entertaining disruptive schemes which typically cause the internet to explode in viral delight. The Emmy award winner celebrated his 68th birthday on Sept. 21st. Our unconfirmed bet is that the idea of playing the Opry stage was a dream of Murray’s and longtime pal, Prine, was able to make the birthday wish a reality.
