The CIA launched their Instagram yesterday (April 25th), the newest of its social media accounts, and the spy agency did it with a little bit of fun.
The post was of a staged photo of CIA Director Gina Haspel's desk along with the message, "I spy with my little eye... " Among the things that could be "spied" were a "Top Secret Pulp" bag for destroying documents, maps of Russia and Iran on the desk, Haspel's first CIA badge, a wig, and a notebook with the words: "We share what we can and protect what we must."
A CIA spokesman told The Verge the main goal of the Instagram account is to spark curiosity about the CIA's mission, saying, "joining Instagram is another way we're sharing stories and recruiting talented Americans to serve."
