The Midwest's Most Haunted Places

If you want to check out an eerie place, set your map for 508 E. 2nd Street in Villisca, Iowa. That's where you'll find the site of one of the largest unsolved murders in history...inside the Villisca "Ax Murder House". Legend has it that the walls inside the house protect the identity of the murderer(s) that killed the entire Josiah Moore family along with two house guests back in the summer of 1912.

Seven Sisters Road just outside Nebraska City is another one of the Midwest's most haunted places. Officially, it's called "County Road L". This is the place that some say a man got into an argument with seven ladies and decided to hang them each from a tree on seven different hills along the road.

Another site you might want to visit for all things creepy is the Chapel at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha. Some people claim the basement is the site for many unexplained instances like seeing a large shadow moving around. Some people have also claimed they were feeling sick and noticed their bodies tingling as if they have had an electric shock while others say that ghosts pulled their hair or pushed them while on the staircase.
