- We all know that beers can get pricey at entertainment venues and airports. But beer prices inside New York City's La Guardia Airport are being called and "absolutely insane".
- While waiting on his flight to Minnesota last month, Brooklyn resident Cooper Lund walked to the airport's Biergarten to grab a beer.
- Instead, he grabbed his chest from some serious sticker shock, where the menu offered a Sam Adams Summer Ale Draught for $27.85!
- To compare, you can buy a 12 pack of Sam Adams Summer Ale from any Total Wine shop in New York for $17.99.
- Lund tweeted a pic of the bar's menu, which also included New Belgium Fat Tire Draught priced at an insane $20.60 and Sam Adams Boston Lager Draught for $18.15. His photo caption read "Lol at all of this, including the additional 10% “COVID Recovery Fee” that doesn’t go to workers."
- Twitter slammed LaGuardia's beer prices, with comments like "This is criminal", while someone asked if "those prices were for a gallon of beer".
- After one Twitter user tagged the company that owns the Laguardia Biergarten, a rep replied to Lund "Yikes! Good catch!" adding that the prices were wrong. The rep blamed the error on an employee who incorrectly priced the beer.
- But Twitter is wondering how many people were overcharged for a beer before the bar corrected its menu.
- Twitter users also said that even after the price correction, they still weren't paying $18 for a Sam Adams.
