If you're one of those people who wakes up in the middle of the night and can't get back to dreamland, try ditching your clock. Sleep expert Terry Cralle says, "When you check the time during the night, you inevitably calculate how long you’ve been awake, and how long you have left until you need to wake up. This can easily lead to stress and anxiety and make it difficult to fall back asleep." Cralle also says to give yourself a maximum of 20 minutes of tossing and turning. After that, "Get out of bed and do something relaxing in as dim of lighting as possible [like] listening to an audio book, knitting or doing a puzzle." (Sun)
