- How do you hold your phone?
- If you use the "one-handed claw" approach, resting its bottom on your pinkie while you cradle the back with three fingers so you're thumb can do all the scrolling, you could be damaging your wrist.
- Holding your phone that way could be giving you "smartphone fingers" or texting tendinitis. Using your pinkie to hold up the weight of your phone can strain the ligament between your finger and hand. You could also pinch a nerve that runs up to your underarm.
- A hand surgeon told Life Hacker that if you want to hold your phone without damaging your hand "prop a rolled-up washcloth or t-shirt behind it—to take the stress off the joint." You should also take plenty of breaks from holding your phone.
