In her final walk into a Texas veterinarianā€™s office, 16-year-old Bretagne, the last known 9/11 search and rescue dog, received a heartfelt salute from a row of firefighters šŸ‘©ā€šŸš’šŸ‘Øā€šŸš’.

šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øĀ Ground ZeroĀ was her first mission with her owner and trainer, Denise Corliss. They worked tirelessly for 10 days šŸ•°ļø. Bretagne also participated in rescue efforts after Hurricanes Rita, Katrina, and Ivan šŸŒŖļøšŸŒŠ.

After retiring, she continued to serve her community as a reading dog at a local elementary school šŸ“ššŸ¶.

Bretagne passed away on June 6, 2016, due to kidney failure šŸ’”.
