đŸŸÂ Remembering a Hero: BretagneÂ đŸŸ

📅 Flashback to 2016 📅

In her final walk into a Texas veterinarian’s office, 16-year-old Bretagne, the last known 9/11 search and rescue dog, received a heartfelt salute from a row of firefighters đŸ‘©â€đŸš’đŸ‘šâ€đŸš’.

đŸ‡ș🇾 Ground Zero was her first mission with her owner and trainer, Denise Corliss. They worked tirelessly for 10 days đŸ•°ïž. Bretagne also participated in rescue efforts after Hurricanes Rita, Katrina, and Ivan đŸŒȘïžđŸŒŠ.

After retiring, she continued to serve her community as a reading dog at a local elementary school đŸ“šđŸ¶.

Bretagne passed away on June 6, 2016, due to kidney failure 💔.
