The Average Parent Gets Just 31 Minutes of “Me Time” a Day! 😱
Wild guess: If you’ve got a toddler at home, you probably don’t have much free time on your hands… and you’re right! A recent study found that parents with kids six and under only get 31 minutes of “me time” a day, on average. 😅 Around one in seven parents said it feels more like ZERO “me time.” 😩
Even when you do get a moment to yourself, it’s hard to relax. A whopping 96% of parents said they feel like they’re always “on call.” 📞
Here’s how parents with young kids spend their day:
👩💼 For working parents:
- 9 hours at work or commuting 🚗
- 4 hours getting their kid ready or helping them in other ways 🍼
- 2 hours shuttling them around 🚕
- 2 hours on chores and cooking 🍲
- 1 hour on miscellaneous tasks 📝
That leaves around 6 hours for sleeping. 💤
👩👧 For non-working parents:
- 9 hours looking after your kid 👶
- 4 hours on chores 🧹
- 2 hours shuttling them around 🚗
- 2 hours on miscellaneous tasks 📝
Leaving around 7 hours for sleep. 🛌
