Kenny Chesney added three additional shows to his limited residency, Kenny Chesney LIVE at Sphere in Las Vegas, citing “overwhelming demand.”
The three new shows will take place on June 18, June 20 and June 21, per the country star’s announcement on Wednesday evening (January 22). Presale for the added shows will begin on Friday (January 24) at 10 a.m. PT. General on-sale will open at staggered times throughout the day, beginning at 10 a.m. PT on Friday, January 31. Chesney listed the times in his latest post:
⁃ 5/22-5/31 10 AM PT
⁃ 6/4-6/14 12 PM PT
⁃ 6/18-6/21 2 PM PT
“I’m always looking for ways to deepen the way No Shoes Nation experiences this music,” Chesney said in a statement when he announced his decision perform a run of shows at the unique, immersive venue. “Over the years, they have shown me through their own response to these songs how passionate they are about what they mean, how these songs are part of their lives. When people give you that much heart, I want to give them even more.
“When we started talking about all of the possibilities playing Sphere offered, I was all in,” he continued. “Just the idea of 4D technology and the impossibly dialed in sound raises the experience for No Shoes Nation, literally immersing them in music, visuals, sound and being together. To me, this is going to be a whole new way of rocking the fans, and I can’t wait.”
Though Chesney has watched a film of U2’s show, he has yet to experience a show at the immersive venue located east of the iconic Las Vegas Strip. Chesney recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he spoke about his upcoming Sphere shows.
“I’ve never done a residency in Vegas. You know, we’ve always been too busy,” Chesney told Jimmy Fallon. “But this is such a unique, different thing for me and my band, my crew, our road family and the audience that we’ve built over the years. I just feel like it’s such (an) immersive thing. You know, it’s such a shared moment. I walked in there. I haven’t seen a show yet. I haven’t seen U2, I haven’t seen the Eagles. I signed up, yes, without seeing a show. But I went there, and they showed me a little bit of what was possible.
“We’re already in rehearsals. We’re doing to be rehearsing. It’s a lot to put together. Once we’re there, we’re going to have a lot of fun. But getting there is a lot of work. But that’s great,” he continued. He added that his shows are “full of positive energy and love. You’re not gonna be told what to think at our show. We don’t preach to you. We’re not gonna tell you who to vote for. We’re just gonna open up our hearts and open up our arms and say ‘come on in.’”
