Emmy Russell is pregnant with Baby No. 2, her second child with husband Tyler Ward.
“I have a surprise,” Russell whispered as she held up a pregnancy test in a clip she shared on Instagram on Thursday evening (February 26). She handed the test to her firstborn daughter, Taylor Ray (Raydiant) Ward, and called Ward into the room. “We got a surprise.”
“What does she have?” Ward asked as he approached his daughter. Russell told him to “pick it up.”
Ward quickly realized Taylor Ray has a baby brother or sister on the way. He cheered, picked up his daughter and hugged his wife in the sweet moment. Russell wrote in her caption, “secret’s out!”
Russell and Ward welcomed Taylor Ray on January 31, 2025. The former American Idol contestant, whose grandmother is late legend Loretta Lynn, said when she announced her pregnancy with Baby No. 1, “me and Tyler are expecting a baby girl,” when she and her mother appeared on a live podcast recording. She and Patsy Russell, Lynn’s daughter, appeared on Got It From My Momma, recorded on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee. Last year, Russell said in an interview with PEOPLE that “as weird as this sounds, I literally heard, I felt like I heard God tell me, 'Emmy, you're pregnant, and your baby is Radiant.’” That moment — and Ward’s middle name, Ray — inspired Taylor Ray’s name.
