An 11-year-old named Cain Coles was heading into court for a big day. He has been in foster care for two years. This was the day it became official. He was being adopted by Vandria and Tyrone Johnson.
That alone is a huge moment for any kid.
What Cain did not expect was to look around and see seats filled with his classmates.
Nearly his entire fifth-grade class showed up. Around 45 kids. They came with teachers. They came with smiles. They came just to be there for him.
This was not a field trip. No assembly. No incentive.
They showed up because Cain mattered to them.
Courtrooms are usually quiet, tense places. This one was different. People clapped. People cheered. Cain officially joined his new family with a room full of support behind him.
