Lainey Wilson performed in the midst of a rainstorm during the New Orleans Jazz Fest over the weekend.
The Louisiana-born Whirlwind superstar shared photos from that performance on Instagram on Sunday (May 3), writing in her caption, “lain or shine.. I mean rain or shine ☔️.” The photos showed Wilson taking the stage in her signature, uniquely-patterned bell bottoms and a cowboy hat, braving the downpour with her band. Festival goers in the audience shielded themselves with umbrellas and rain ponchos as they packed the venue to watch Wilson’s set. iHeartRadio’s Ashley Wilson shared a clip of the performance on Instagram, showing the reigning Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year “taking on a Louisiana rainstorm like the queen that she is.”
Wilson was performing her latest single, “Can’t Sit Still,” which she wrote with Trannie Anderson, Dallas Wilson and Aslan Freeman. The high-energy anthem followed the deluxe edition of Wilson’s latest studio record, Whirlwind. The 19-track extended version arrived in August 2025. That album included “Keep Up With Jones,” “Country’s Cool Again,” “Good Horses” with Miranda Lambert, the title track, “Hang Tight Honey,” “4x4xU,” “Somewhere Over Laredo” and more.
