Some moments on award shows feel routine. This one didn’t.
During the ACM Awards, Dan + Shay took part in the “ACM Lifting Lives” segment, tied to Mental Health Awareness Month. Before they sang a note, Lauren Alaina stepped in to introduce them. Her message was personal and steady, not overdone, just real.
That set the tone.
Then Dan + Shay performed “Say So.” It’s already a song about speaking up and being open, but in this setting it landed differently.
Mental health conversations can feel heavy or uncomfortable. This moment didn’t try to fix anything. It just reminded you that saying something matters, even when it’s hard.
