Tom Cruise is back in "Top Gun: Maverick". It is the long awaited sequel to the 1986 smash "Top Gun".
Below is the official trailer for the movie. Along with Tom Cruise, the follow-up stars Jennifer Connelly. She is best-known for her Academy Award winning performance in "A Beautiful Mind" in 2001.
Val Kilmer is back as Iceman. Ed Harris plays the superior to Cruise's Maverick.
Tom Cruise originally confirmed the film was going to happen 2 years ago during an interview in 2017 with an Australian TV show.
The film was originally scheduled to be released this month. Due to extensive visual effects and complicated flight scenes, the movie is now due to hit theaters in June 2020. It is produced by Paramount Pictures, Skydance and Jerry Bruckheimer Films.
