FORMER HUSKER QB - GRASS ISN'T GREENER

Nebraska v Ohio State

Former Nebraska quarterback Luke McCaffrey may not be experiencing the greener grass on the other side. After transferring, McCaffrey hasn't seen much success.

The QB was a backup at Nebraska behind Adrian Martinez for two seasons 2019-2021. McCaffrey then transferred to Rice University to become the team's quarterback for this season.

After playing in the first three games of the season for Rice, McCaffrey has completed only 50% of his passes (16 of 32) for 181 yards. He has rushed 13 times for a net of 16 yards. I imagine a few sacks have pulled that number down.

You can see his current stats here:

The good news for the QB is that he is getting to live his dream and play quarterback in college.

The bad news is that his team has started the season with an 0-3 record. Over the three games, Rice has been outscored 24-140 cumulatively against Arkansas, Houston and Texas.

Here's hoping his season gets better over the upcoming weeks.
