I've been fighting a cold and cough for the past week or so and decided to try something different last night to get me some relief from my nighttime cough. I put Vicks VapoRub on the soles of my feet, then slid on a pair of socks and went to bed. Surprisingly - it seemed to work better than the cough medicine I tried a couple of nights ago.
Some people don't think it actually works and it's more of a placebo effect. Check out this article.
