The two country superstars sat down with a tablet and pulled up some vintage shots from their early Nashville days. Blake kicked things off by showing Keith a photo of him in a maroon vest, no shirt, and hair down to his shoulders. Keith’s response?
“Well, that’s what I looked like when I got here, and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why we couldn’t get signed.”
Keith Gets His Revenge
Keith wasn’t about to let Blake off easy. He pulled up a photo of Shelton rocking long, curly hair and said, “I don’t know when this was, Blake, but you’ve got the Unabomber thing going on. Sort of a Charles Manson influence.” Blake laughed and admitted it was his “Terri Clark phase.”

The roast is part of a promo for their new CBS reality series The Road, where they mentor up-and-coming country artists. But honestly, this clip is worth watching even if you’ve never seen the show.
