If You Are Spring Cleaning - Your 2000s junk might be worth money 💿👀

Your Closet Might Be Sitting on Surprisingly Valuable Stuff

Here is a fun thought. Some of the things from the early 2000s you keep meaning to donate or toss might actually be worth money now. Not lottery money. But enough to make you pause before putting that box on the curb.

A recent list rounded up items from the 2000s that collectors are actively looking for. Most of them are things you probably already own.

No hype. Just a reminder that time does odd things to everyday stuff.

Here is what made the list.

1. Old concert merch

Band shirts. Tour hoodies. Even jackets. If you bought it at a show and wore it for years, someone may want it now. Especially if the artist later blew up.

2. Early iPhones

Still sealed phones are the real prize, which feels unlikely. But even used ones can hold value. If you kept the box, that helps.

3. iPods

Yes, really. Younger buyers see old iPods as cool tech. Think of it like the new Walkman energy.

4. Gaming consoles

The Nintendo 64 leads this category. Condition matters a lot. Cords, controllers, and original boxes push the price up.

5. First edition books

Early Harry Potter prints stand out here. Even if it is not perfect, an original copy still gets attention.

6. Pokémon cards

This one makes sense. A random card from your old binder could be rare. Most are not. A few are.

7. Tamagotchi

Tiny plastic keychains that beeped at the worst times. Turns out people want them again.

8. Old LEGO sets

Built or not, older sets are popular. If the instructions are still around, that is a bonus.

9. DVDs

Physical media is back. Common titles are everywhere. Hard-to-find movies and box sets are not.

10. VHS tapes

This is the wild card. Some people collect VHS for nostalgia. Especially kids movies from the late 90s and early 2000s.

Before your next closet cleanout, take a second look. You do not need to hoard everything. But you might want to check what you have before letting it go.

If nothing else, it is a fun walk through your own timeline.
