- If anyone knows how to survive the holiday travel season, it's flight attendants.
- CNN spoke to two FAs to get helpful hints on how you can get through the holiday travel season with no sweat.
- HAVE A BUFFER DAY - Always leave yourself a day in case of cancellations, and delays.
- GIVE YOURSELF TIME BETWEEN LAYOVERS - The FAs said to have at least 90 minutes between flights if you are connecting.
- AVOID PEAK TRAVEL DAYS TO SAVE MONEY - Since everyone else is flying home on Sunday, you might want to look at coming back on a Monday or Tuesday.
- BOOK TICKETS DIRECTLY WITH THE AIRLINE - If there's any trouble with your ticket, you'll have a better chance of getting it fixed by airline personnel rather than a third party.
- CHECK YOUR PASSPORT EXPIRATION DATE - Don't try to travel internationally if your passport is about to expire.
- TAKE THE FIRST FLIGHT OF THE DAY - The first flights usually aren't subject to as many delays. Once the day is in full swing, all kinds of issues could mess up your flight's time.
- BE CONSIDERATE - Everyone is trying to get somewhere. Be nice about it.
- IF YOU CAN, PACK LIGHT AND DON'T CHECK BAGS - Having your luggage on board will make it easier for you to get to your destination faster.
- PLAN TRIPS AROUND KIDS' NAP TIMES - If you want to be a considerate parent, try to fly when you know your kids will be napping. Also, bring things to keep the children occupied when they are on the plane.
