On Sunday afternoon, Beth Fitzpatrick captured a special moment while photographing birds and surfers at Narragansett Town Beach in Rhode Island. She noticed a man drop to one knee to propose to a woman and quickly took photos, but didn’t approach the couple out of respect for their privacy. When she later looked at the images at home, she felt they were too meaningful to keep and reached out to friends to help identify the couple.
Thanks to posts in local social media groups, the couple was identified within an hour of the photos being shared. The newly engaged pair, Samantha Zambarano and Ryan Chadwick of Warwick, were thrilled to learn about the unexpected photos. Chadwick, whose photographer had canceled the morning of the proposal, called the photos “a blessing” and said, “It’s a good omen.”
The couple expressed deep gratitude for Fitzpatrick and the online community. The bride-to-be shared how their family had been celebrating the surprise discovery, while Fitzpatrick said she was happy the story had “a happy ending” and that the couple would always have this moment to keep, adding, “It couldn’t have worked out better.”
