The clock is ticking when it comes to Mother’s Day gifts, but if you still haven’t shopped for the mom in your life, new research suggests you might not have to. A new survey reveals what moms really want for Mother’s Day this year is a nap.

Sandals Resorts talked to more than 600 moms about their wish lists for their special holiday and learned that sleep is what they want most.

  • Half (49%) call “a nap with no one needing you” the ultimate luxury, it even beats out the coveted solo bathroom break (24%).
  • Over 60% of moms say they’d be happy to trade presents for the chance to sleep.
  • Nearly two-thirds of moms haven’t had a nap in the last month, and a quarter can’t even remember the last time they napped.
  • For 85% of moms, they need more than a cat nap to function, with their ideal nap lasting from 30 to 90 minutes.
  • Location is important for napping, and more than two-thirds of moms say it’s easier for them to nap on vacation.
  • The best nap spots include hotel rooms (50%), the beach (22%) and the spa (14%).
  • Background sounds matter, too, with the favorites that help them drift off to sleep including the calming sounds of rainfall (50%), ocean waves (44%), birds chirping (21%) and wind blowing (20%).
  • And it’s not just mom who feels better after she gets a nap, 94% of mothers polled agree that their families benefit when mom gets more sleep.
