Summer is that time of year when arguments over the thermostat in the house shift from heat to air conditioning. And as we head into those hot months, the U.S. Department of Energy is weighing in on the ideal temperature to set your AC. Experts recommend keeping indoor temperatures comfortable, but while keeping the difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures low in order to save money. The idea temperature? 78 degrees. It should be set even higher when no one is home to save energy.
