Office frogging is the latest workplace trend, particularly among young workers. Basically, it’s just a new term for an old concept – job hopping. It’s when you hop from one opportunity to the next – you know, like a frog. Instead of sticking with one employer for a while, these “office frogs” embrace a “hop-on, hop-off” career style to gain new skills, make more money, or escape dead-end jobs. The thing is, while job-hopping used to be seen as risky or flaky, many experts now say it can be a smart strategy – if it’s done right. The key is to make sure each move adds value and to be able to explain your career choices clearly to future employers. So what can employers do about it? They’re being encouraged to offer better pay, benefits, and workplace culture to keep talent from leaping away.
