The Zoo Fundraiser That Lets You Get Petty for a Good Cause
If Valentine’s Day feels a little… complicated this year, the San Antonio Zoo has your back. Their “Cry Me a Cockroach” fundraiser is returning, and it is one of the most entertaining ways to blow off a little steam.
What Is “Cry Me a Cockroach”?
This playful event is now in its seventh year, and the idea is simple. You can name a cockroach, a rat or even a vegetable after someone who wronged you. Maybe an ex. Maybe a frenemy. Maybe that coworker who keeps stealing your lunch.
It is all in good fun, and the money goes straight to supporting the zoo.
How It Works
For $5, you can name a cockroach or a veggie. If you want to go bigger, $15 lets you name a rodent, which will then be fed to one of the zoo’s animals. It is nature doing its thing, with a little extra satisfaction for you.
