If you’ve ever wished you could ask Aaron Judge about his workout routine or find out what kind of dog Shohei Ohtani has, you might get your chance… sort of.

The Major League Baseball Players Association just teamed up with a tech company called Genies to create AI avatars of real MLB players. These aren’t just cute cartoon versions. They’re designed to actually chat with fans.

So what does that mean for you?

Think of it like having a digital version of your favorite player who’s always available to talk. Want to ask about pregame rituals? Curious about their hobbies? Wondering what they eat on game day? The AI avatar can answer in a way that feels personal and interactive.

The company hasn’t said which players will get avatars first, but the goal is pretty clear: help fans build a deeper, more unique connection with the athletes they love.

Why this is such a big deal

Sports fans already follow players on social media, but this takes things to a whole new level. Instead of scrolling through posts, you’ll be able to have a conversation — even if it’s with an AI version of the player.

For busy athletes, it’s a way to stay connected without being glued to their phones. For fans, it’s a chance to feel closer to the game and the people who make it exciting.
