Move Over Puppies… Snake Yoga Has Entered the Chat

If you’ve ever tried puppy yoga, you know it’s adorable and chaotic in equal measure. Tiny paws everywhere, zero personal space, and a whole lot of giggling. But now there’s a new twist on the trend, and it slithers.

From Puppies to… Snakes

A reptile‑focused pet store called HISSS has introduced snake yoga. Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Instead of furry friends bouncing around your mat, you get long, smooth, surprisingly chill reptiles hanging out while you stretch.

Why Snakes

Instructor Katy Vanek says snakes are actually a better fit for the vibe she wants in class. Kittens can be a little manic and unpredictable. Snakes, on the other hand, tend to be calm and slow moving. She describes them as mindful, which honestly feels like the most unexpected compliment for a reptile.

What It’s Like

Picture yourself in a quiet room, soft music playing, and a snake gently draped across your arm while you breathe through a pose. It’s not as wild as it sounds. The snakes aren’t there to scare anyone. They’re just part of the atmosphere, adding a unique twist to the usual yoga flow.

Would You Try It

Some people hear “snake yoga” and immediately nope out. Others are curious. And a few are already signing up because it sounds like the ultimate story to tell at brunch.
