They're doing something very cool but kind of creepy in Atlanta. They're using Robot dogs to patrol areas of the city like apartment complexes and construction sites, and they’re already making a difference.
These aren’t cute little robot pets. They’re built by an Atlanta company called Undaunted, and they come loaded with cameras and sensors. A human operator watches everything in real time and can talk through the robot like a loudspeaker on legs.
So if someone’s somewhere they shouldn’t be, the robot can roll right up and say something like, “Hey, you’re not allowed here.” And people listen. One video even shows two teens sprinting away the moment the robot spoke.
The goal is simple: stop crime before it starts. And it seems to be working. One apartment manager says their occupancy jumped to 99.5 percent after bringing in the robot dog. That’s a big deal for any complex, especially one trying to reassure residents about safety.
Plus, the cost is about half of what a full‑time human security guard would be. For property managers, that’s hard to ignore.
