Prom season has officially arrived, and if you’re a parent trying to figure out how your teen is getting to and from the big night, Uber just made things a whole lot easier.
They’re offering teens three free rides worth up to fifty dollars each. All you need is the promo code “Yes!” and a teen added to your family profile in the app. The offer runs through June 30, which covers most prom dates across the country.
Uber knows parents worry about their kids riding alone, especially at night. So they’re highlighting the safety tools built into teen accounts.
Parents can track trips live, get real-time notifications, check driver ratings, and even set spending limits. Teens also have PIN verification to make sure they’re getting into the right car.
And if you’re a parent of a daughter who feels more comfortable with a woman driver, Uber is expanding its Women Preferences feature. You can request a female driver when available, which adds another layer of comfort.
Teens can reserve their rides up to ninety days in advance, which is perfect for anyone planning their prom night down to the minute.
Uber is also giving the app a little glow-up. Teen accounts will see a special Prom makeover on the UberX and Uber Black icons. It’s a small touch, but it makes the whole experience feel more festive.
