If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, you probably remember the thrill of reading a stack of books and proudly cashing in your little certificate for a free personal pan pizza. Well, get ready to relive that joy through your kids, because Pizza Hut is bringing the BOOK IT program back for summer.

This year’s version is called the Summer of Stories, and it runs from June 1 through August 31. Kids from pre-K through 6th grade can join in, and the setup is simple. Parents and teachers can sign up through the BOOK IT app, track reading goals, and help kids earn monthly certificates for free pizza.

The BOOK IT program has been around since the 1980s, and it became a huge part of childhood for millions of students. It was the perfect combo of reading, motivation, and pizza. Now it’s back, tapping into that nostalgia while giving today’s kids a fun reason to pick up a book.

Sign-ups are open now through the BOOK IT app. Once you’re in, you can set reading goals, track progress, and celebrate each month with a pizza reward. It’s simple, fun, and a great way to keep kids reading during summer break.
