So hereâs a twist in the parenting world. A new international study found that, for the first time ever, women are now more likely than men to become parents. And before you picture a sudden baby boom, thatâs not whatâs happening.
Researchers say women arenât suddenly having bigger families. Whatâs actually changing is the number of men who are having no kids at all.
Across many developed countries, male fertility rates are dropping. Not because of biology, but because of life choices and circumstances. More men are delaying fatherhood, struggling to find longâterm partners, or deciding they donât want kids in the first place.
Even though women are having kids later in life, theyâre still more likely to become parents at some point. The study shows that women continue to choose motherhood more often than men choose fatherhood.
This isnât just a fun fact for trivia night. It reflects bigger changes in relationships, dating, and how people picture their futures. Researchers say it could also affect everything from population trends to social policies.
Women arenât having more babies. Men are having fewer. And for the first time on record, that flips the script on whoâs more likely to become a parent.
