If you feel like you need a loan just to fill up your gas tank, you're not alone. Those gas pump visits hit hard. And while there’s no magic fix, there is a small thing you can do that actually helps over time.
Take a look at your car’s climate controls. See that little icon with an arrow looping around inside the outline of a car? That’s your air recirculation button. And it’s more useful than most people realize.
When the button is off, your car pulls in air from outside. When it’s on, your car reuses the air already inside. That means your AC doesn’t have to work as hard to cool everything down.
Less work for your AC means your car uses a little less fuel. It’s not a huge savings all at once, but over weeks and months, it adds up.
When to Use It
- Hot days when you want the car to cool down faster
- Stop‑and‑go traffic where outside air is warm or smoggy
- Anytime you want your AC to chill the car quicker
Just remember to switch it off when your windows fog up or when the air inside feels stale.
