Maren Morris has been officially engaged now for a month. In a CMT interview she dished out some details of the Fourth of July weekend proposal from Ryan Hurd.
She says that about 15 friends were close by and it was a fairly spontaneous decision on his part. She stated: “I really had no idea, and I had sweats on and my glasses. Did not look cute at all — so that’s how I knew he was serious.”
Ryan said, “I had had that ring in my pocket for a while, and I was just looking for a good time. I woke up on the 3rd, and I said to myself that THAT was the day, but there was no point where we were alone together, and so we jumped in the boat and had about 20 minutes together. And literally with fireworks in the air…she said yes.
The two met in 2013 during a songwriting session, when they were randomly put together to write; during that session, they penned “Last Turn Home,” which Tim McGraw recorded.
