Nebraska School Sorry for Secretly Serving Kangaroo Meat in Cafeteria

The Potter-Dix Public School District in Potter, Nebraska, has apologized for serving kangaroo meat to unsuspecting students. According to a statement posted to the school district's website, head cook Kevin Frei added kangaroo meat to October 10's beef chili lunch because of its "nutritional value as a lean meat." He has since been fired and superintendent Mike Williams has apologized for the marsupial meat that ended up on the lunch trays of middle and high school students. “If a family wants to eat exotic foods, they can do so on their own time--not at school,” Williams said. "We will no way be serving food of this nature again. Period. I apologize for the anxiety and any harm that this has caused individual students and/or families."
