Couple makes soup for college students who are sick and away from home!

When you’re sick, a nice bowl of homemade chicken soup can help you feel better, but when college kids are far from home, they usually miss out on the remedy. But not at Arizona State University. For over a decade, Rabbi Shmuel Tiechtel and his wife Chana have been bringing bowls of homemade chicken soup to students who are under the weather.

Any student - not just Jewish ones - or their parents can order soup delivery by phone or through an online portal at no charge. The couple delivers about 15 bowls a week.

"It's warm, it's homey, it makes you feel better. And it's not just the chicken soup, it's the fact that somebody thought to come and give it to you – the fact that someone cares,” the rabbi explains. “I think chicken soup shows caring with love.”
