On Monday night in Severance, Colorado, 9-year-old Dane Best convinced the town board to overturn a century-old ban on snowball fights. “I think it’s an outdated law,” Dane said prior to the meeting. “I want to be able to throw a snowball without getting in trouble.” (He admittedly can't wait to pelt his 4-year-old brother.) The AP reports that the rule was part of a broader ordinance which made it illegal to throw or shoot stones or missiles at people, property or pets. Speaking of pets, Dane has a guinea pig, which is technically illegal to own in Severance. Sounds like that law may come off the books soon as well.
