A man in Turkey has discovered his dog really is his best friend after she waited outside the hospital where he was a patient for six days. When Cemal Senturk was taken to Medical Park Hospital in Trabzon, his dog, Boncuk, escaped from their home and followed him there. She waited outside every day and when Senturk’s family brought her back home, she’d get out again and return to the hospital.
No one knows how Boncuk managed to escape repeatedly, but luckily the hospital wasn’t too far from their home. To reassure his pet, Senturk would talk to her from his hospital window, but she refused to leave the entrance. Boncuk won the hearts of hospital staff, who fed and took care of her during his stay.
Murat Ercan, the hospital's international patient center director, says the dog has been with Senturk for nine years and when he was cleared to go home, she was waiting at the doors for him. He says, “Boncuk has behaved really sweetly during the six days and has managed to capture the love and affection of the whole staff.”
